Fairytale of NY named Christmas favourite

The love song Fairytale of New York, sung by The Pogues and the late Kirsty MacColl, has been voted the favourite Christmas song.

The love song Fairytale of New York, sung by The Pogues and the late Kirsty MacColl, has been voted the favourite Christmas song.

The original Band Aid single, released in 1984, came second in the poll, followed by Wham’s Last Christmas. Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade came fourth, with fifth place going to this year’s Band Aid single.
