Bedingfields deliver world's biggest Xmas stocking
Pop star siblings Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield helped deliver a record-breaking Christmas stocking to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London today.
The stocking, measuring 10m (32.8ft) by 3m (9.8ft) and containing 200 toys for children who will not make it home for Christmas, is the world’s largest-ever Christmas stocking.
The Bedingfields, who have both had No 1 hits, were joined by the UK’s tallest man and around 20 London firemen to present it to the sick children.
It breaks the previous record of 8.6m (28.2ft) by 1.9m (6.2ft), set four years ago by an Australian charity.
Some 200,000 Christmas stockings have been sent to Great Ormond Street in the last six years for their annual Christmas appeal.
Millions of pounds in donations have been collected. This year any money raised will go towards the hospital’s multi-million pound redevelopment.
