Somebody else is trying to find the Yuletide spirit in this sad seasonal slice of sludge.

Affleck plays a successful exec who finds himself friendless and alone as Christmas approaches. He has a lot of money but nobody to spend it on, so he decides to return to his hometown in search of the ghosts of Christmas Past.

His old home is now owned by a family whom he bribes to take him in; with the usual disasters.

Affleck does make more than he deserves to of his role since he has been handed a disappointing screenplay. There are some laughs and decent moments in the film but, alas, they're not sustained.
