Birthistle to travel to Tinseltown

Dublin actress Eva Birthistle, who was raised in Derry, is taking her talents to Los Angeles for a stab at Hollywood fame.

This follows her recent Irish Film and Television Best Actress award for her performance in Ken Loach’s Ae Fond Kiss.

She will also soon be seen in Neil Jordan’s Belfast-shot Breakfast on Pluto and Ollie Parker’s Click.

Birthistle was back in Derry at the weekend for the start of the Derry film festival.

She travels to LA next month to meet casting agents on the back of the Loach movie's critical success in Europe.
