Ricky Gervais's The Office will battle it out for a top honour at the British Comedy Awards with Ant and Dec, Jonathan Ross and Little Britain.

Ricky Gervais's The Office will battle it out for a top honour at the British Comedy Awards with Ant and Dec, Jonathan Ross and Little Britain.

They have been nominated with The Kumars, Doc Martin, Bo Selecta and The Green Wing for the People’s Choice Award.

Little Britain and The Office already have two nominations apiece for best TV comedy and best TV comedy actor at the 15th annual awards.

But the One.Tel People’s Choice category is the only one voted for by the public at next month’s ceremony.

The winner will be announced at a star-studded ceremony in December.

The nominees are:

:: The Office – Christmas Special (BBC1)

:: Little Britain (BBC2)

:: The Kumars at No 42 (BBC2)

:: Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV1)

:: Doc Martin (ITV1)

:: Bo Selecta (Channel 4)

:: The Green Wing (Channel 4).
