Antiques shop joins queue to sue Jacko
An antiques shop is suing pop star Michael Jackson for allegedly failing to pay a near €140,000 bill.
Kamad Enterprise, which owns the Mayfair Gallery in Los Angeles, claims Jackson bought antiques in May but has only paid for half of it. The Mayfair Gallery specialises in 19th century European furniture.
Jackson bought 20 items, including an urn, a Louis XVI-style bust clock, silver bread holder and an Austrian gold-painted dancing girl, the complaint, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, said.
Jackson lawyer Brian Oxman, said he had not reviewed the complaint. “Like other proceedings involving Michael Jackson, we’ll look at it carefully and deal with it in a professional manner,” he said.
It was the second legal action against Jackson this week alleging he failed to pay bills.
Marc Schaffel, a former producer and business associate, sued the singer on Tuesday, claiming Jackson owes for loans and producing fees.
