Suge insists Vibe violence was overblown

Heavyweight rap boss Marion 'Suge' Knight is laughing off Monday night's Vibe Music Awards violence as "just an average day in the ghetto", even though one man was stabbed amid a chair-throwing frenzy.

Ex-convict Knight, who runs Los Angeles' Tha Row record label, insists the Vibe Music Awards fracas made the headlines because it was a slow day for news - and that stabbings and crowd trouble are everyday occurrences in his world.

He tells news show Entertainment Tonight: "I seen it in the news and they're taking this incident and making it seem like there was lots of fighting going on.

"In the reality, if you were sitting there looking (at it) a lot of the guys were trying to run and go backstage and leave. Security wouldn't let them.

"Chairs got thrown. That's just an average day in the ghetto. You can't go and portray an image and think some of these guys ain't going to go and bump heads."
