Friends assistant sues writers for sexual harassment

A former Friends writers' assistant is suing her ex-bosses for sexual harassment, claiming she was subjected to sleazy sex talk on the set every day.

Amaani Lyle claims she was sacked for typing too slowly, but she insists her work was tardy because she had to listen to bawdy sex talk as the show's writers brainstormed sleazy plotlines.

She says: "They would basically sit like teenagers in a locker room, talking about things they wanted to do to the cast and walking around pretending to masturbate."

But the former writers on Friends, who are named in Lyle's suit, claim the sex talk was necessary for them to come up with titillating plotlines for the hit sitcom.

Legal authorities at California's Supreme Court must decide whether the case will go to trial.

Lyle was dismissed after just four months on the job in 1999.
