Two Scots actors are leading the race to become the next James Bond after Jude Law’s recent box-office flop Alfie, bookmakers said.

Two Scots actors are leading the race to become the next James Bond after Jude Law’s recent box-office flop Alfie, bookmakers said.

Ewan McGregor is now favourite to follow in the footsteps of the original Bond and fellow Scot Sean Connery at odds of 9/4, according to William Hill.

Fellow countryman Dougray Scott, who starred in Mission Impossible II and Enigma, is also being heavily backed and is now second-favourite behind McGregor, at 9/2.
