Mourners say goodbye to John Peel

Mourners gathered today for the funeral of disc jockey and broadcaster John Peel.

Hundreds of people – including celebrities from the music and broadcasting world as well as fans – gathered at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Suffolk, to pay tribute to Mr Peel, who died nearly three weeks ago.

Mr Peel was BBC Radio 1’s longest serving DJ after joining the station when it was launched in 1967.
