Real life JR keeps reminder of drinking demons
Larry Hagman has a constant reminder of his boozy past - the picture of the man whose liver kept the former Dallas star alive.
Hagman, who played oil tycoon JR Ewing in the hit 1970s and 1980s soap, needed a liver transplant after years of heavy drinking almost cost him his life.
He explains: "I drank my liver out - over 40 years of drinking - and I feel great now. I have somebody else's liver and I give thanks to him everyday. I have his picture next to my shaving mirror."
