DeGeneres rules out children - because of homework

Ellen DeGeneres fears she isn't intelligent enough to help a child with homework, so has no desire to become a mother.

The comedienne, ex-girlfriend of actress Anne Heche, was the focus of a number of reports last week, speculating she and her current partner Alexandra Hedison had plans to adopt a child.

But DeGeneres has hit back at the claims, citing her lack of knowledge on today's school subjects as a major reason why.

She says: "One of the reasons I don't wanna have children is they'd come to me to help 'em and I'd be: 'I have no idea. I don't know what any of that is.'"
