Leonardo DiCaprio has admitted that he regrets accepting the lead role in James Cameron's multi-Oscar winning Titanic.

The star says he wishes instead he had accepted the lead role in Boogie Nights. He says he does not enjoy the fame that he now has to deal with and believes he would have been wiser to play the role of porn king Kirk Diggler in 1997's Boogie Nights - the role which went to ex-rapper Mark Wahlberg.

Leo's latest movie, Martin Scorsese's The Aviator, in which he plays film mogul Howard Hughes, opens here at the end of the year.
