Harry: No apology over paparazzi scuffle
Britain's Prince Harry will definitely not apologise to the paparazzi photographer over their scuffle outside a nightclub, the communications secretary to The Prince of Wales said today.
Paddy Harverson described the incident as âunfortunateâ and âregretfulâ, but said the photographers outside the club had been âmuch pushierâ than usual.
Speaking on BBC Radio FiveLive, Mr Harverson also gave a robust defence of the young prince and said he was not the âone-dimensional characterâ he was sometimes portrayed to be.
He said his father, the Prince of Wales, had been âsympatheticâ following reports that Harry had apologised to him about the fracas.
âI think the whole thing was regretful,â Mr Harverson said.
âThere were reports that he had a conversation with his father, we have never disclosed what that was, but Iâm sure it was a good conversation. His father was quite supportive and sympathetic, but hopefully this sort of thing wonât happen again.â
Asked if there would be an apology to the photographer involved, Mr Harverson said: âIt certainly seems to be the month for apologies, but no, I donât think it really requires that. I think it is fairly straightforward.â
