Outkast movie in trouble
A movie based on American rappers Outkast is reportedly in trouble, because of a spiralling budget and the diva behaviour of stars Andre 3000 and Big Boi.
Makers HBO are struggling to keep the project under control, according to gossip site The Scoop.
Sources claim the film - based on the pair's ultra-successful album Speakerboxxx/The love below - is "weeks behind production and millions of dollars over budget" and Andre 3000 and Big Boi "are acting like a couple of 1940s starlets".
An insider adds to The Scoop: "The director (Bryan Barber) seems to have lost control, but HBO can't fire him because he's a big buddy of OutKast - practically the third member of the group."
"(He directed OutKast's videos) brilliantly, but there's a big difference between directing a video and directing a movie."
HBO have reportedly written to Andre complaining about filming he has missed and executives have even flown to the Wilmington, North Carolina, set to try and sort the situation out.
A spokesperson for the network, meanwhile, denies the project is in trouble, insisting the two stars are "absolute pros" and gushes of director Barber: "(He) is the right man for the project. We love him. The film will speak for itself. We're very happy with it."
