Almond in 'stable' condition
British pop star Marc Almond is in a "stable" condition in a London hospital following a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon.
The former Soft Cell singer, 48, was riding pillion with a friend when the bike collided with a car near Cannon Street underground station. He was thrown to the ground and sustained serious head injuries.
Almond was rushed to the Royal London Hospital for emergency surgery before being transferred to intensive care.
In a statement, the hospital said: "His family request that his and their privacy is respected at this time."
The Tainted Love singer's official website marcalmond.co.uk has started up a special email address for fans who wish to send their best wishes.
