This latest offering from the computer-animation department of DreamWorks may not be as charming as Finding Nemo, but it has its moments.

We here meet a dysfunctional family of sharks, and their story covers, a father-son conflict and the search for identity but the effort lacks the wit of Nemo in that it strives too hard to be funny with some quite indifferent one-liners.

Plus, most terrible of all, there isn’t a great deal happening.

The line-up of Hollywood A-Listers is surprisingly hit-and-miss in its delivery of the dialogue and in its attempts to engage us fully.

At times the film takes the lazy path to entertaining us, and it doesn’t work. Not as well as the story of little Nemo.

Star Rating: 2/5
