Linney gorges on doughnuts to play 'robust' role
Love Actually star Laura Linney gorged on doughnuts to beef up to play sex expert Alfred Kinsey's wife in new biopic Kinsey.
The actress gained more than 20 pounds (9 kilograms) to play "robust" Clara Kinsey - and enjoyed every minute of her weight gain.
She says: "It was the first time I had worked from the outside in. I've never done that before. We were a very different body type. I gained a lot of weight for the movie.
"There were fat suits, there were wigs, there was contact lenses, there was prosthetics, and all of that, but it was all primarily a lot of doughnuts - my favourite food group.
"I had never done that before, so it was really interesting."
