Williams sets himself up in Match

Pop superstar Robbie Williams has promised fans he'll make an appearance on British soccer reality TV show The Match the next time it's aired.

The Radio singer watched his television presenter friend Jonathon Wilkes captain a celebrity side of players as they took on a veteran team of ex-soccer aces in Newcastle, England, on Sunday. The game was aired on Sky One.

And Williams liked the look of The Match so much he has put his name forward to participate in a future episode.

He said: "I'd love to play if there's a match next season. I'll be out there on the pitch."
