Charlotte's boyfriend misses court date

Singer Charlotte Church’s boyfriend failed to appear at a court hearing today because he had jetted off on a last-minute break.

Kyle Johnson, 19, did not attend the hearing set after he was found guilty of driving without insurance and failing to produce a driving licence.

The trainee hotel manager, of Haig Place, Ely, Cardiff, was found guilty in his absence when he failed to attend another hearing in August.

Cardiff Magistrates Court heard that a clerical error meant that Johnson was advised of the wrong date for his case.

The teenager booked a holiday at the end of last month and left yesterday for the 15-day break.

A spokesman for Miss Church confirmed that the singer was currently on holiday but could not say where or with whom she was travelling.
