Costner's canoe threat for new bride

Kevin Costner and his new bride Christine Baumgartner celebrated married life by taking a canoe trip.

The Dances With Wolves star captained a two-man canoe out into a lake near his home in Aspen, Colorado, immediately after the wedding ceremony.

The bride didn't even get a chance to change out of her Monique Lhuillier-designed wedding gown.

She says: "The canoe ride we do all the time. I thought it was romantic. Kevin said, 'Let's get in the canoe,' so I did."

The boat trip was more successful than one the couple took last week - Baumgartner was forced to bail out water with a champagne flute when a boat in which they were picnicking sprung a leak and started sinking.
