Legendary American photographer Richard Avedon has died. He was 81.

The New York-born fashion and portrait photographer passed away yesterday at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, following a brain haemorrhage during a photo shoot for The New Yorker magazine last Saturday.
