Martin apologises for attacking snapper

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has finally apologised for kicking a photographer five months ago.

The Yellow singer had claimed Alessandro Copetti tripped while chasing his taxi, but has now accepted a police caution, admitting he attacked Copetti for trying to photograph him and wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who was then pregnant with their daughter Apple, as they left London's trendy San Lorenzo restaurant.

Copetti complains: "At least he's accepted responsibility. The police said he apologised to them and was very helpful. But he has never apologised to me. He seems to think it is ok to be violent to photographers because he is a celebrity."

Police said: "A 27-year-old man was cautioned for common assault."
