A clever and highly-involving futuristic sci-fi drama in which the always-excellent Robbins plays an investigator sent to Shanghai to solve the problem of a serious crime.

In a story which never allows its grip to falter, we have a fine thriller allied to an off-beat romance... with threatening consequences.

Winterbottom allows his character space and time to develop fully without burdening them with a too elaborate plotline.

Robbins, one of Hollywood's finest and most interesting actors, moves with ease into the story and emerges with another notch on his already well-marked CV.
