Charlotte's ex-boyfriend's trial halted
The trial of a former boyfriend of singer Charlotte Church and two of his friends who are accused of attacking another man was halted today.
Steven Johnson, Cain Mackenzie and Matthew Tomlin were being tried on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful wounding and violent disorder following an alleged incident outside a Cardiff nightclub in May.
But the jury hearing the case at Cardiff Crown Court was discharged today.
Johnson, 20, of Pomeroy Street, Butetown, Cardiff, Mackenzie, also 20, of Clive Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, and Tomlin, 21, of Eleanor Place, Butetown, Cardiff, deny the charges. They now face the possibility of a retrial.
