Ryder accepts comedy role
Winona Ryder has agreed to star in the indie comedy Mary Warner.
The film will reunite her with director Michael Lehmann who previously directed her in the dark comedy Heathers.
She'll play a slacker actress who trips her way through a series of life-changing misadventures after eating a batch of marijuana-laced brownies made by her roommate.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in LA on January 15. It's Winona's first true lead role since she was sidetracked by a trial and shoplifting conviction.
