Snoop's group hit with lawsuit

Snoop Dog and his rap collective 213 have been slapped with a lawsuit by a man who claims the stars have used his work on three songs without permission.

Producer DJ Battlecat, who has put together tracks for such stars as Busta Rhymes, Brian McKnight, Xzibit and Faith Evans, filed the copyright-infringement suit on Thursday over tracks which appear on 213's album The Hard Way.

Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, performs in the group alongside Warren G and Nate Dogg.

Their record label TVT has also been named in the lawsuit.
