The Darkness employ British look

Rockers The Darkness are plotting a massive image change ahead of their next album - because they want fans to realise they're British.

The band - famous for their skin-tight costumes - are sick of being labelled American when they travel the world on tour, and blame their chosen genre of music and flamboyant look on misleading people.

So the stars are planning to alter their appearance to ensure fans understand they're British born and bred.

Singer Justin Hawkins says: "One of the problems that we have found worldwide is that people assume that we are American because of the nature of the music.

"I think one of the reasons for that is the absence of the bowler hat and briefcase. So we'll be looking to incorporate that somehow."
