Britney and Kevin VMA wedding rumours

Britney Spears and her fiance Kevin Federline were under extra-close scrutiny by fans at last night's MTV Video Music Awards, because they were expected to wed on the stage.

Spears, who donned a wedding dress alongside Christina Aguilera and shared a kiss with "groom" Madonna at last year's VMAs, was rumoured to be planning a real exchange of nuptials in front of millions of fans at the Miami, Florida, event.

Tom Calderone, executive vice-president of music at MTV, teases: "Let's put it this way: there's a lot of stages here which some may say look like a chapel. You never know.

"It's a good platform to celebrate your love. Let's put it that way."
