Liam McInerney, 23, from Forest Gate, east London, punched and kicked the Fairytale Of New York star in the toilet of a Belgravia, central London bar.

McInerney claimed the 46-year-old singer had approached him offering money for sex in Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court yesterday.

McInerney pleaded guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm and a similar assault on a woman in a Hackney, east London, bar.
