Cindy Crawford turns her back on PETA
Supermodel Cindy Crawford has dealt a blow to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) movement by becoming spokeswoman for fur giant Blackglama.
Ten years ago, the former wife of Richard Gere posed for PETA's 'I'd rather go naked than wear fur' campaign, but has followed in Naomi Campbell's footsteps by wearing fur again.
Edward Brennan, CEO of American Legend, the marketing cooperative behind Blackglama, told American magazine Women's Wear Daily that Crawford modeled five coats for their recent campaign.
He says: "She can have any one she wants. I hope she took all five."
By fronting the Blackglama campaign, Crawford is following in the illustrious footsteps of Rita Hayworth, Bette David, Lauren Bacall and Marlene Dietrich.
