Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are refusing to pay $100,000 (€81,100) for basic 'tenant improvement' work on their New York apartment.

The New York Minute actresses, 18, whose company pulls in over $1bn (€811m) a year are disputing the maintenance bill on their $7.3m (€5.9m) West Village apartment.

A source tells gossip site pagesix.com: "They are so rich. I just can't believe they are arguing over this.

"Especially when they are already spending so much on the apartment."

The sisters have bought the 15th floor of the Morton Square building - combining four penthouses into a single massive apartment measuring 5,725 square feet.
