Ronnie Wood starts kickboxing to stop drinking

Veteran rocker Ronnie Wood has begun kickboxing in a bid to conquer his addiction to alcohol.

The 57-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist hopes daily training with a martial arts expert will help prevent him from being tempted back to booze.

Last month, Wood checked into London rehabilitation clinic The Priory after he began drinking again and drunkenly crawled under a restaurant table while out dining with wife Jo and supermodel Kate Moss.

Wood is so desperate to remain clean he's decided to fill his time up with kickboxing.

An insider says: "Ron's a surprisingly fit guy considering how much he likes a cigarette.

"He's really taken to kickboxing and it seems to be keeping him off drink as well as getting him into shape.

"His visit to the Priory worked well and the kickboxing seems to be doing the trick. He is on good form and feels great at the moment."
