Murphy's singing idol appears in film cameo

Brittany Murphy is thrilled her latest movie Little Black Book features music by Carly Simon - because the singer has long been her idol.

The 26-year-old actress grew up listening to Simon hits You're So Vain and Coming Around Again, and is delighted her latest romantic comedy contains the singer's songs, as well as a Simon cameo.

Murphy says: "I have always been acquainted with Carly's catalogue, to say the least. She's the most tremendous woman. She's a force of nature. She's just a delight."

Murphy also loved working alongside Oscar-winning actresses Holly Hunter and Kathy Bates in the film, which was "an incredible learning experience" for her.
