The wait is finally over – the winner of Big Brother will be revealed tonight.

Four housemates – Dan, Nadia, Shell and Jason – have made it to the final day. And the bookmakers make Nadia an odds on dead cert to win.

Viewers have been voting for their favourite housemate for the last week.

The housemate with the least votes will leave in the first of two live shows. In the second show, presenter Davina McCall will reveal the winner.

Nadia began the Channel 4 show as a 50/1 outsider but over the past 10 weeks she has endeared herself.

The Portuguese transsexual is now the hottest favourite in Big Brother history with odds of 1/50.

Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: “Nadia has well and truly defied the odds. She’s swung from being the biggest outsider at 50/1 to the hottest favourite to win we have ever seen at 1/50.

“If she fails to win it would be one of the biggest shocks in TV history. At the start of the show we wrote off her chances but we hold our hands up and say we got it wrong.

“Nadia has faced many challenges in her life but she will make winning the biggest reality show in the world look easy.”

The prize fund, which started at £100,000 (€150,000) is now down to £63,500 (€95,968).

Money was deducted each time the housemates failed a task. Lesbian activist Kitten also knocked cash off the total when she refused to leave the house.

But the prize money will be a drop in the ocean to Nadia once she emerges from the house.

With newspapers vying for the story of her sex swap, and advertisers queuing up to sign her, the 27-year-old looks set to become a millionaire. Even in the unlikely event she doesn’t win she will still rake in the cash.

Jade Goody is said to have made well over £1m (€1.5m) after her appearance on Big Brother 3, despite coming fourth.

This year the bookmakers predict Shell will take fourth place and be first to get evicted tonight.

Dan and Jason are neck-and-neck for second place – despite early predictions that the muscle-bound Scot would never make the final week.

“The real contest is for second place and we can’t split Dan and Jason,” said Warren Lush.
