Murphy’s ends link with Kilkenny Cat Laughs festival

The internationally renowned Cat Laughs comedy festival in Kilkenny has lost its main sponsor.

The drinks firm Murphy’s is ending its link with the festival after a nine-year association.

Festival director Lynn Cahill has expressed confidence of finding a new backer.

The Cat Laughs weekend is regarded as one of the world’s top three comedy festivals, alongside Montreal and Edinburgh.
