McFadden blasts life in Westlife

Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden will attack life in his old band with the release of his first solo song.

The Irish star - who left the fivepiece in March - sings about how he felt "trapped" as part of the chart-topping boyband in his debut track Real To Me penned by Robbie Williams' ex-songwriting partner Guy Chambers.

In the song, McFadden sings: "B***ard dinners and the free champagne/men in suits who think they know it all/No one knows me but they know my name/None of it's real to me. Hotel lobby to the airplane/another country but they all look the same."

McFadden explains: "It's everything I hated about being in Westlife, from the hectic schedule, showbiz parties and non-stop travelling all over the place and boring record company meetings.

"It's about feeling trapped everywhere I went, from the cars to the hotel rooms. It's only now I have kids that I realise what the important things in life are."
