Church's boyfriend locked up in police cell

Charlotte Church's boyfriend was locked up and charged with a public order offence yesterday after an alcohol-fuelled street row with the teen soprano.

Kyle Johnson was handcuffed and thrown into a police cell after a flare-up between him and his Voice Of An Angel girlfriend in Cardiff, Wales - despite Church's pleas for officers to leave them alone.

Church allegedly pleaded: "We're just bickering. What's it got to do with you? Haven't you ever had a row with your wife?

"He didn't do anything to me. Please don't arrest him."

Church accused the police of over-reacting because she is a star - after they arrested Johnson for swearing at them.

The young star took a taxi to the police station, but left before Johnson was released at 5am after sobering up.
