McLean to play Irish concert

American Pie singer Don McLean makes a return to Dublin for a show at the Olympia Theatre on August 8.

Tickets are priced at €48 (inc. booking fee) and €49 (inc. booking fee) and are on sale from The Olympia Theatre box office and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.

Don was recently formally elected into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on June 10 in New York.

Speaking at the ceremony, Don said: "This is wonderful and unexpected validation for an old lone wolf like me. I am deeply moved."
