Cowboys and Angels

Director: David Gleeson

Cast: Michael Legge, Amy Shiels, Allen Leech, Colm Coogan, David Murray, Frank Kelly

Cert: 15.

Shane (Legge) moves into his first apartment - in a sexed-up Limerick - where his gay flatmate educates him in the ways of the world.

A slight little film, though one not without its charm. What helps lift it is the collective performing of an eager young cast.

It just could have done with a little more meat from writer-director Gleeson, who seems content to leave the film as a coming-of-age story that depends too much on its half-drawn characters.

It has its moments and it's tried hard not to let the lively Irish industry down.

Star Rating: 3/5
