Will Young romancing Matthew Williamson

British Pop Idol winner Will Young has reportedly struck up a romance with fashion designer Matthew Williamson, according to reports in the UK.

The Friday's Child singer - who came out about his homosexuality shortly after winning the talent show in 2001 - met trendy Williamson backstage when he performed at London's Albert Hall last month.

According to insiders, they started chatting about work and found there was a spark between them. Since then they have reportedly enjoyed a number of cosy dinner dates and were spotted holding hands at a recent party.

However, a spokesperson for Will insists there is nothing but friendship between the two men.

The rep says: "Will and Matthew have recently become friends. There is nothing more to it than that."
