Usher to become a movie star
MTV bosses are so convinced Usher's phenomenal chart success will transform him into a movie star, they're devising a film specially for the R&B singer.
Although MTV Films are shrouding the upcoming project in secrecy, it has been revealed the singer's big screen lead debut will not be autobiographical.
Paramount Pictures are reportedly on board to distribute the movie, which originally carried the working title Confessions - the same name as his latest mega-selling number one album.
In addition to starring in the movie, Usher has also signed up to executive produce the film and provide the soundtrack.
Confessions, the biggest album of 2004 with US sales to date of more than 4.8 million copies, has yielded three Number one singles, including 12-week chart topper Yeah.
