Minnelli: 'I'm still battling demons'
Singing legend Liza Minnelli has hit out at salacious reports she been back in rehabilitation - insisting she keeps no secret about her "lifelong" battle with alcoholism.
The Cabaret star insists she needs daily help to stay clean and she isn't ashamed of her trips to rehab.
Minnelli explains to American website PageSix.com: "I've never made it a secret that my alcoholism is and will always be a lifelong struggle. I seek help and support on a daily basis. I have good days and bad days, and I am constantly learning new things in my effort to cope with this journey.
"Rehabilitation is not a dirty word, and I don't believe it is anything to be ashamed of anymore."
Nevertheless she insists she is doing fine and inundated with offers of work. "I just opened a new theatre at Harrah's in Atlantic City on the July Fourth weekend and got fantastic reviews, and I have upcoming shows in Atlanta at the end of July and a series of West Coast shows.
"I've been offered two TV series and am considering a movie role for later this year. So, on a personal front and career wise, I'm actually feeling more positive than I have in a long time."
