R Kelly makes another travel request

Troubled R&B star R Kelly made an unexpected appearance in a Chicago, Illinois, court yesterday to ask for permission to travel again.

The singer, currently awaiting trial on child pornography charges, put in a request to perform in Michigan at the Detroit music festival on July 24, which would require him to leave Chicago on July 23 and return by July 26.

The court granted his request.

Kelly previously appeared in court on June 22 in a separate low-key hearing to ask permission to travel on a two month North American tour in support of his new double album Happy people/U saved me.

His request was granted, and he was also given permission to perform at an awards show in Miami, Florida, in August.

He's next due in court on September 27.
