Young hopes to help gay teenagers come out
Openly-gay singer Will Young hopes the fact he is desired by mothers all over the nation will help gay teenagers find the courage to come out.
The singer - who was the surprise winner of the first British Pop Idol contest - publically came out two years ago and hopes he has improved the perception of homosexuality.
Will says: "I've never tried to be a gay role model. I just try to be my own person and I hope that sometimes people look at me and think, well, there's nothing scary about him - being gay can't be that frightening.
"Maybe it helps gays teenagers if their mums fancy me? They can think, well, I could bring Will Young home and mum would probably thank me."
