Farrell 'punches' drunk

Hollywood wildman Colin Farrell leapt to his own defence in Paris this week when an over-enthusiastic fan refused to leave him alone.

The Irish star tried to warn away the drunk at French capital's Plaza Athenee hotel and then reportedly punched him to the ground.

A source tells American news site Pagesix.com, "Colin asked him to get away a few times and the guy started talking back to him, and the next thing I know, the guy was on the floor.

"Colin knocked him out. Security picked him up and brought him back to his room. The party went on as if nothing happened."
