The 22-year-old argues that getting married was the last thing she wanted - because of "the big stink" the press made about her drunken Las Vegas wedding in January - but argues that although she "definitely" wants a large family with Federline, she is not ready for children yet.

Spears said: "You know what? This is my life and I don't care what people think. I'm going to get married. I'm in love with him. I love little ones, but I'm not pregnant.

"I see myself with four or five. We're starting with a dog. I just got a Maltese named Lacy."

The star has not yet met her future step-daughter Kori, 2, and will have to help raise Moesha actress Shar Jackson's second child - with Federline - who is expected next month.

Spears explains: "I plan to meet his daughter. I think the situation is good."
