Judge scolds Love's punctuality

Courtney Love has been scolded by a judge after she showed up more than five hours late for a Manhattan court appearance.

“The rules apply to you as well as everybody else,” Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson told the former Hole frontwoman as Love showed up at 3pm for a scheduled 930am hearing yesterday.

Love, aged 39, faces charges of assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly hitting a fan with a microphone stand at a show in the East Village in March.

Her lawyer, Scott Tulman, said Love was late because she did not know she would be required to appear.

Love, who also faces assault and felony drug charges in California, is due back in Manhattan Criminal Court on September 7.
