Did Aretha lip-sync national anthem?

Soul diva Aretha Franklin is at the centre of a musical scandal after a disgusted technician insisted she lip-synced the American national anthem at a basketball game.

The legend performed the anthem before the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons NBA final at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan on June 15, and is now being accused of miming to a pre-recording of the song.

The telecast's producer Brian Pastoria says: "We recorded vocals for Aretha Franklin last year at her house. One of the things we recorded was the national anthem - the one that was played at the Palace on Tuesday."
