Big Bro housemates squander £3,000 chance
The Big Brother housemates tonight lost £3,000 of the eventual winner’s prize money after the show’s latest series of challenges.
The housemates split themselves into three teams for tests based on intelligence, skill and strength and had to decide on which proportion of £10,000 they wish to risk on each one.
In the first challenge, they had to rearrange letters of a conundrum with each housemate wearing a sandwich board and physically forming themselves into a word. They failed and lost £3,000.
Then, housemates had 60 seconds to carry a person with a loop on their head along a wire without touching it. In this task, the group bet £6,000 and succeeded.
Then, the group had to knock down skittles situated in the garden with a human ball, a task on which they bet £1,000 and also succeeded in.
The prize money has now gone down to £74,000, from £100,000 at the start of the series.
After surviving eviction, the odds on Daniel winning the reality TV series have been cut from 3/1 to 5/2 making him the firm favourite.
Shell and Stuart are the next most favoured at 3/1 each.
However, Jason is the favourite for the next eviction at 6/4 followed by Victor at 2/1.
A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “Jason has blown it in recent weeks and looks set for the chop. If Victor goes, we imagine the booing outside the house will be worse than ever before.”
Earlier, Vanessa told how she was surprised at being interviewed by police just hours after becoming the first housemate to be evicted from the house by public vote.
The blonde student, 26, who was questioned over the recent Big Brother brawl, said she thought the incident had been “blown out of proportion”.
Speaking at a press conference on her first day out of the house, South African-born Vanessa added: “We did resolve it within the house but obviously there was some concern outside.
“It’s just a format they (the police) are going through.”
Asked about her feelings for Scottish muscleman Jason, Vanessa insisted he was “just a good friend”.
Referring to her steamy session in the Big Brother garden and shower with Jason, the student said: “I had my beer goggles on that night.” She added: “He’s just a good friend, there’s nothing more to it really. I don’t think we are going to get married.”
Vanessa also claimed she would never have had sex in the Big Brother house and had even been too shy to take her top off in front of the cameras.
She said: “I would not have ever had sex on TV. I never even got my top off.”
